[100-Yen Shop Shrink Plastic Follow-Up] Comparing Daiso and Seria Shrink Plastic Sheets by Thickness
previous articleI’d like to continue by comparing the thickness differences between Daiso and Seria shrink plastic sheets!
Hello, I’m Kanahina☆
Today I found a new 0.15 mm shrink plastic sheet at Daiso, so I’m going to compare the differences in thickness!
The shrink plastic sheets people often use are probably 0.2 mm or 0.3 mm, but I had never found a 0.15 mm sheet before, so I’m excited to try it 😊
I also had a 0.4 mm sheet that I had bought earlier but never used, so I’ll bake that one as well.
I bought my 0.4 mm sheet at Seria, but Daiso also had 0.4 mm sheets for sale!
By the way, the 0.15 mm and 0.2 mm sheets used this time are Daiso products, while the 0.3 mm and 0.4 mm sheets are Seria products.
The 0.15 mm shrink plastic sheet I found this time is B4 size, the same as the 0.2 mm sheet.
I’ll also place a link below to the shrink plastic sheets I usually buy on Amazon.
Now, let’s start baking them!

Here are the shrink plastic sheets before baking: 0.15 mm, 0.2 mm, 0.3 mm, and 0.4 mm.
Sorry they are a little hard to see because they are transparent.
And here they are after baking!!

The 0.4 mm sheet is seriously distorted!!
Actually, the first 0.4 mm sheet distorted so badly that I baked another sheet of each thickness, but both 0.4 mm sheets turned out the same way.
The 0.3 mm Seria sheet baked cleanly, so perhaps thicker sheets are more likely to distort.
Let’s also look at the thickness after baking!

0.15 mm → 1 mm
0.2 mm → 1.5 mm
0.3 mm → 1.8 mm
0.4 mm → 2 mm
That was the result.
There may be some differences depending on how they are baked, but after baking, the 0.4 mm sheet was about twice as thick as the 0.15 mm sheet 😊
Summary
The 0.15 mm sheet had little distortion after baking and was easy to bend, but I’m concerned about its strength for larger pieces such as keychains.
The 0.15 mm sheet seems useful for small pieces or three-dimensional work, so it would be good to choose the thickness depending on the project 🎶
For larger pieces such as keychains, I think 0.2 mm or 0.3 mm sheets will be more stable!
