[Question Solved! I verified the baking method and temperature of 100 plastic baking pan.
The most difficult part for beginners is the "baking" process!
Hello, this is Kanahina! I'm Kanahina!☆
When you start making plastic baking, the most difficult part is the "baking" process, isn't it?
I know that you can bake them in a toaster, but at what temperature? What is the temperature of "low temperature"?
I can't set the temperature in the first place...etc.
This time, we would like to verify whether plastic baking at that temperature produces the best baking without distortion.
Toaster with temperature settings from 80°C to 230°C
There are two toasters that I will try: one with temperature settings from 80°C to 230°C, and one with three toggle settings: upper heat, lower heat, and upper/lower. We also have a steam toaster, the "Hellsio Grier," but I don't recommend it because it doesn't bake well and the steam clouds over the toaster so you can't see what it is baking.
For this experiment, I will use CuCotto Plavin 0.3mm white, which is sold by Daiso.
I baked two sheets at one temperature to avoid individual differences. Also, I will not press down on the top after baking.
Here are the plastic bunnies before baking. They are cut into 25mm diameter circles.
Here is the result of baking!
It seems that 80℃ and 100℃ were not hot enough, so they did not shrink well.
One piece managed to shrink, but the other did not seem to shrink any further even after baking in the toaster for more than 2 minutes, so I finished....
The one sheet that did shrink was clearly larger than the other temperature and did not straighten out.
As for the other temperatures, the finished size is almost the same, but I feel that the higher temperatures tend to cause distortion compared to the beautiful shape of the 120°C and 140°C.
Although plastic bobbins have a difference in the rate of expansion and contraction between length and width, and distortion will occur, we would like to minimize distortion as much as possible!
There does not seem to be much difference between the plastic baked in a toaster with upper, lower, and upper/lower heat, but the lower heat seems to produce the most beautiful circles....
Furthermore, looking at the reverse side, those baked at 180℃ or higher and upper and lower heat have melted corners and burrs.
About the result of this time
As a result of baking plastic biscuits at various temperatures this time, the most beautiful biscuits were baked at 120-140℃ for those with temperature settings, and at the lower heat for those with upper and lower heaters.
Comparing the two toasters, I found the toaster with temperature settings easier to use.
If you are going to buy a toaster for plastic baking, check if you can set the temperature.
The heat power varies slightly depending on your toaster, so please use these results to find the best temperature for you!😊
If you are not sure which one to buy, here is a link to the plastic baking pan and toaster I use!🎵
If you want to buy plastic bins online, I recommend you to buy them from Amazon.
I often buy them from Amazon because they are sometimes cheaper than 100 for a pack of 10.
They arrive quickly, and if you are a member of Amazon Prime, shipping is often free.

I use the following toasters, which have temperature settings and are not expensive and easy to use!😊
I've been making plastic-ban accessories for about 15 years, and now I love this toaster because it's so easy to use and produces a great finish.💕

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Q.1Is there any other way to bake plastic baking sheets other than using a toaster?
-
A.1
You can also use an embossing heater to shrink plastic bans.
However, an embossing heater is not suitable for large works because the area not exposed to hot air will not shrink. Also, be careful because the wind can cause the plastic bobbins to fly away.
-
Q.2Is the heat power too strong for some toasters?
-
A.2
Yes, there is. Since the heat power varies depending on your toaster, we recommend trial baking in the beginning to find the optimal temperature.
-
Q.3How long is the appropriate time for baking plastic bans?
-
A.3
It depends on the temperature, but it will shrink limply within a few seconds of being placed in the toaster. At this time, if you wait a little without panicking, the shrunken plastic ban will flatten out and stop moving, and that is when it is ready to be used.
-
Q.4Do the baking time and temperature change when using plastic bans of other thicknesses?
-
A.4
Yes, the baking time and temperature may vary depending on the thickness of the plastic baking pan.
We have tested plastic baking time from 0.15mm to 0.4mm, and the baking time is slightly shorter for the thinner plastic baking pan. But please take out the condition of the plastic baking pan, not the time.
-
Q.5Is there any way to reshape the plastic baking pan if it is distorted after baking?
-
A.5
While the plasticized canvas is still hot, you can shape it by lightly pressing it with a flat object (such as the bottom of a book or a can).
Some colors may appear on the surface depending on what you used, such as magic markers, so it is a good idea to put a piece of copy paper between the pieces!
-
Q.6Is there anything I should be careful about when baking plastic bits in a toaster?
-
A.6
Toasters are very hot. Be especially careful when taking out plastic bits, and be sure to wear military gloves or silk gloves.
Silk gloves are recommended for those who want to make three-dimensional works, as they are less likely to get bumps on the fabric when bending the plastic bobbins!
You can buy them at 100-yen stores!☆
-
Q.7If I want to add a design or color to a pplasticized van, should I do it before baking?
-
A.7
Basically, designs and colors should be added before baking, but colors can also be added after baking with acrylic paints. Plastic baking makes colors darker, so when using colored pencils or pastels, it is best to apply colors lightly.
-
Q.8I found air bubbles in the baked plastic bubbles, what is the cause?
-
A.8
Bubbles may be caused when the coloring material applied to the plastic bubbles is not even, or when the plastic bubbles are caused by over-baking.
-
Q.9If I am not used to baking in a toaster, what measures do you recommend?
-
A.9
By baking repeatedly, you will be able to judge the baking process! Try it again and again!♪
-
Q.10Does the shape of the plastic bag change if it touches something while it is still hot?
-
A.10
Plastic sheets are very soft when they are hot, so their shape may change until they cool down. You can use this to create three-dimensional works.
-
Q.11Do the smoke and smell of baking plastic baking sheets affect my health?
-
A.11
No major health risks are expected within the normal range of use, but care should be taken to ventilate the area.
-
Q.12What is the material used for plastic bags?
-
A.12
Plastic is a plastic material that shrinks when heated, and its main ingredient is a material called polystyrene.
