Honeycomb décor made with 100-yen items purchased at Seria

This time, I’d like to show you how to make honeycomb décor using only materials from Seria.

The great thing about handmade projects is that you can create the exact shape and size you want, something ready-made products cannot offer. On top of that, every item used here is a 100-yen item purchased at Seria.
I already had glue at home, sothe total came to ¥880♪ If you do not use fake greenery, you can make it for ¥550.

What materials do you need?

Here are the materials I found at Seria ↓

These are hexagon-shaped decorative shelves. The product name is Wood Style Hexagon. There were several items with the same shape but different sizes and heights. This time, I used the lower-height type with a diameter of 108 mm.
There was also a slightly smaller version, so choose whichever size you prefer.

At the same Seria store, I found a set of three mirror-style tile stickers and thought they might look cute inside, but the mirror stickers were slightly too small, so I gave up on that idea...

How do you make it?

The process is very easy!

First, arrange the Wood Style Hexagons. I made mine asymmetrical, but you can make it symmetrical or increase or decrease the number of pieces.
Just arrange them in a way you like.

One thing to be careful about here is that it looks cleaner if you align the direction of the wood grain inside. I noticed this after gluing, so one piece ended up with the grain slightly diagonal.

Once you decide on the shape you like, glue the pieces together. If you apply too much glue, it will squeeze out, so use a moderate amount.
After applying glue to one side, hold it in place with a clothespin, then attach the next side, and continue this way for a clean finish.

Add fake greenery!

It is cute as it is, butI added fake greenery from the same Seria store!
I prepared three pieces with connected bases.
Some long leaves were sticking out here and there, so I pulled them out. They came out easily without using scissors.

After choosing where to place the greenery, press it in firmly. At this stage there were still a few gaps, so I used the remaining greenery to fill them.
For this part too, pull off the stems of leaves you like and insert them into the gaps while checking the overall balance...

And it turned out like this!! So cute♡

I considered fixing it with adhesive, but because I packed the greenery tightly, it did not fall out even when I stood it up.
I thought I might want to remove the greenery later if my mood changed, so I did not use adhesive this time!
